Laser CL Dark II Guide
General Use
This new transfer paper is designed for colour laser printers and colour laser copiers and is suitable for high resolution photographs. You can image all coloured fabrics made of cotton or cotton blend as well as synthetic fabrics (polyester, nylon, etc.)
Printing Equipment
CL Dark works in both Colour Laser Copiers and Colour Laser Printers including new Non-Oil Laser Printers
Printing
- Feed transfer paper from bypass tray
- Copy/Print on the coated, rough side of the transfer paper in right reading, (not in mirror image!)
- Set copier/printer to ‘Thick / Heavy' stock mode.
*Recommended to increase toner levels and colour brightness when copying/printing*
Please Note: For Konica Minolta 5430 users – we recommend the ‘Thick stock 2’ setting
Transfer with Heat Press
- Trim away any excess unprinted paper around your image with scissors.
- Remove transfer film from backing paper
- Position the imaged transfer film on your garment with printed side face up.
- Cover imaged transfer film with enclosed silicon paper
- Press at 140 - 145*C using heavy pressure for 10 seconds
- Allow silicon to cool completely and then peel off
Transfer using Hand Iron
- Iron on a hard surface, NOT an ironing board. Place a pillowcase or t-shirt between your
- Hard surface and your garment to allow the heat to penetrate the transfer.
- Remove transfer film from backing paper
- Position imaged transfer film on garment with printed side face up
- Cover imaged transfer film with enclosed silicon paper. This is to protect the imaged transfer film.
- Adjust iron to the highest temperature setting
- Step press, with firm pressure, slowly along each side of the image.
- Hold each press for 45 seconds, ensure all edges and corners are firmly pressed.
- Continue to step press over the entire image, again each step press should be held for
- 45 seconds until entire image has been pressed and all areas have been pressed for 45 seconds each.
- Allow silicon to cool completely and then peel off.
- Total ironing time should be 5 – 6 minutes for an A4 size image
